Title: Magic Hour @ Coles Carpark

Artists: Beth Sometimes, Harry Hayes & Zoya Godoroja-Prieckaerts

Location: Kickstart Arts

EXHIBITION

Using an artist-as-spy methodology, Zoya, Harry and Beth have been conducting the So Overt It's Covert operation into goings-on at Coles Carpark Mparntwe/Alice Springs. The carpark, comprised of eight of the original lots sold as property in the town, is owned by the Bachrach Naumburger Property Group based in Israel. At Kickstart Arts as part of Hobiennale the artists are musing on what it means to own and manage this carpark at such a distance, what it is to activate a site or care for a site through art and processing some of the heavy data via the creation of an abstraction of the Mparntwe/Alice Springs carpark in Tasmania. The artists will host tours of the site during exhibition opening hours.

 ABOUT WATCH THIS SPACE

The only contemporary experimental art space in Central Australia, Watch This Space has played a critical role in the creative ecology of Mparntwe/Alice Springs over the past 24 years. WTS works to be a catalyst and conduit for conversations and experiments in the always-evolving languages of art. It supports contemporary art dialogue in the region both inside and outside a gallery space, encouraging, nurturing and promoting Central Australian and visiting artists. WTS is an ARI hub where studio artists and exhibiting artists intersect, housing a diversity of creative practices.
